Football and pizza go hand-in-hand. Every year during the Super Bowl, pizzerias across the country are swamped with people who are ordering for the big game.

That's also true in Western New York, but this year is a much different story, heading into the AFC and NFC Championship games. That's because the Bills are actually a part of it for the first time in 27 years. They will play at the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 6:40 p.m.

If you plan on ordering a pizza for the game this Sunday, you might want to make sure your favorite place is open. A couple of pizzerias in Western New York will be closed for the game.

According to WGRZ, Pesci's Pizza & Wings will be closed for the game on Sunday. They're located on Main Street in Williamsville. If the Bills make the Super Bowl, they will be closed for that game as well.

Co-owner Chris Phillips says he and his fellow owner got to experience the Bills Super Bowl years and he wants his young staff to experience that as well.

"My partner and I were 18, 19, 20 when the Bills were on that run back in the day. The Pesci's kids, we call them, kind of grow up with the Bills and not a ton of success," Phillips said. "We've seen how excited they've gotten and this whole Bills Mafia following. We thought you know what? These guys have got to experience this themselves at their age as well."

Two Guys Pizza in Lancaster will also be closed for the Bills game on Sunday. They will close before kickoff, at 6:30 p.m.

"Knowing there's been a whole generation of kids who haven't been able to experience this and most of them are people that age, my kids included, it kind of seemed selfish not to let them have the ability to partake in the hoopla and all the fun," co-owner John Evoy said.

We will see if any more Western New York pizzerias will also close for the Bills game.
