Stefon Diggs Not With His Bills Teammates at OTA’s
The Buffalo Bills are still in off-season mode, as training camp doesn't begin for another two months. The Bills will once again be at St. John Fisher University in Rochester.
Before that, players are once again at One Bills Drive for organized team activities; otherwise known as OTA's.
The team is looking for get down their schemes on both offense and defense. This is important for rookies and newly signed free agents, as they can get accustomed to the playbooks and schemes before training camp.
However, OTA's are not mandatory. They're voluntary and that means veteran players have the freedom to skip them if they so choose.
One of the players not present at OTA's this week is wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Diggs' absence isn't a huge surprise since he usually skips OTA's (based off previous seasons) but he has not been at OTA's this spring, while he also hasn't spoken to the media since before the AFC Divisional round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Head coach Sean McDermott confirmed on Monday that Diggs wasn't at OTA's.
We all remember the image of Diggs' arms wide open, as he was visibly upset on the sideline. He then left the locker room before media had a chance to speak with him. We haven't heard from Diggs since that Sunday in January.
There shouldn't be any reason to worry he won't be at mandatory minicamp in mid-June but it's at least notable that he once again is not there in Orchard Park.
McDermott also said that Damar Hamlin is not practicing. We will have to wait and see if that's the case in June for minicamp.
