Kentucky Derby

Thanks to Todd from Batavia Downs and OTB for joining us Friday on the show. This weekend's Kentucky Derby should be an interesting one for a bunch of reasons...the least of which is the weather factor!

Saturday night, many of you may have been watching The Kentucky Derby.  I wasn't one of them.  But my curiosity about the winner could have gotten me in trouble.

The Kentucky Derby is coming up this Saturday and Josh has some hot tips – he says.   If Willie Shoemaker was riding one of the horses – I’d go with him, but he passed away more than eight years ago, but during his career he was one of the greatest in the sport – especially the in the Triple Crown races.

It’s the oldest continuing sporting event in the country and this weekend is the 137th edition of the Kentucky Derby featuring the world’s best 3-year old thoroughbred horses.  Nicknamed the “Run For the Roses” and the “Fastest Two Minutes In Sports” the Kentucky Derby is always held on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville.  It’s the first leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown.
