Terry Pegula Drops Bomb About Keon Coleman At Year-End Press Conference
Buffalo Bills' owner Terry Pegula dropped a bit of a bombshell about wide receiver Keon Coleman at his end-of-the-year press conference, along with Brandon Beane today.
It's not often that Terry Pegula fields questions from the press with regard to the Buffalo Bills. However, after letting their head coach go, both General Manager Brandon Beane and owner Terry Pegula held a press conference today. They spoke about everything from what their thought process was that helped them to decide to break from Sean McDermott to personnel questions.
Terry Pegula drops bomb about Keon Coleman
One of the questions that was asked by the press was essentially about how Brandon Beane can justify not getting more help for Josh Allen at the wide receiver position. The question was this,
"A lot of people out there believe you have failed in the free agent market and then obviously with the Keon Coleman signing which hasn't worked out. How do you answer the fact that you have not given Josh a good enough wide receiver this far?"
He's been criticized for the talent (or lack thereof) at the wide receiver position quite a bit, including his draft pick of Keon Coleman who has struggled to have a huge impact in this offense. As Beane began to answer the question, Pegula spoke up and asked if he could "address the Keon situation."
He continued to say that Keon wasn't Beane's pick. Pegula explained that it was the coaching staff that pushed to get Keon. It appeared that he was trying to take the pressure off Beane for picking a wide receiver who hasn't paid off.
Brandon Beane said he still believes in Keon Coleman
The press conference lasted almost an hour with Beane and Pegula fielding questions, and it did come up a little later. That's when Beane doubled down and assured people that Coleman was, in fact, his choice.
The Bills will now begin the search for their next head coach
The next step for the Bills is to find their next head coach. While it will be a very desirable job for coaches across the league, it will be a daunting task. The next coach will have huge shoes to fill.
