The weather has been perfect to take a stroll along the Buffalo Waterfront these days and there is one attraction that has many around Western New York talking proud.

There seems to be something new and exciting being added to the Buffalo Waterfront every other month. It has been amazing to see the transition over the years and the vision of things to come. But this sand sculpture that I saw this week could be my favorite recent addition.

If you get a chance, try to see this in person. It is worth the visit.

A long Canalside, at the Buffalo Waterfront, there is a sand sculpture done by local artist, Eric Jones. This sculpture entitled "Iron Will" is a tribute to the movie with the same name and a tribute to American Veterans who battle PTSD.

On the "Iron Will" website, the mission is explained as: "Iron Will is a journey into the minds and lives of veterans who are suffering with post-traumatic stress. Our mission is to bring awareness and support to veterans and their families by sharing their personal stories and their daily struggles".

It was a hot, quiet morning when I paid a visit to see this educational tribute. We all recognize and appreciate the sacrifices made by the brave women and men of the United States Armed Forces. However, thanks to the work by Eric Jones and this movie/story, we have the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the struggles that some of our beloved Combat Veterans continue to go through.

If you have time, take the family to see this sculpture in person. It is not only impressive to see what Eric can do with sand, the message is equally impressive.
