There’s Hope Fantasy Island Will Open Again In 2021

There was a ton of disappointment not only on Grand Island but all over Western New York this past February when Fantasy Island closed for good.

However, there is new (serious) hope that Fantasy Island will be back up and running again.

According to WKBW, a group of investors called Empire Adventures Incorporated are looking to buy the property outright.

Grand Island Town Supervisor John Whitney is hopeful for the future.

"There's a group of investors and they call it Empire Adventures Incorporated, they want to purchase it outright and if that doesn't go through, they're going to lease the property," said Whitney.

Whitney says the group has plans to open in time for the 2021 season.

While Whitney is hopeful, they don't know what the outcome will be yet.

Grand Island is also hoping for a future Amazon distribution center, which is called "Project Olive." The Amazon center, if approved, would bring 1,000 new jobs to Grand Island.
