There is some disappointing news for shoppers across New York State who love visiting Tractor Supply. According to reports, the company plans to close a number of underperforming locations around the country. It may come as a surprise, especially if your local store is anything like the ones here in Western New York, which always seem to be busy.

Tractor Supply Remains Popular Across New York

What are you shopping for this summer? Aside from the usual groceries and back-to-school supplies, what has been bringing you into stores lately?

For our family, it seems like we’re constantly picking up dog food, chicken feed, and supplies for projects around the backyard and property. Tractor Supply has become one of my favorite places to shop for those items. They also carry a great selection of hunting gear, tractor parts, tools, and clothing. We even find winter apparel for the kids there every year.

That’s why it’s surprising to hear that some Tractor Supply locations across the country are scheduled to close.

Which Tractor Supply Stores Are Closing?

According to a recent company report, several underperforming Tractor Supply locations will be shutting down. As of now, according to reports, the list of stores that are closing has NOT BEEN released.

"Tractor Supply did not release a list of the stores that are shutting down, but the NBC affiliate in Little Rock reports that six of nine Petsense locations in Arkansas are permanently closing."

Fortunately, Tractor Supply continues to invest in many communities, and not every location is impacted.

Western New York Tractor Supply Stores Continue to Grow

Here in Western New York, we’ve actually seen additional Tractor Supply stores open in recent years. The new location on Main Street in Clarence is an impressive store, and it’s been great to see the company expanding in the area.

I typically shop at the Hamburg or Springville locations, but there are plenty of Tractor Supply stores throughout Western New York that all seem to be doing well whenever I stop by.

With fall just around the corner, many families will soon be shopping for back-to-school supplies, home improvement materials, outdoor equipment, and seasonal necessities. This is usually one of the busiest times of the year as county fair season, late-summer vacations, and family activities all compete for time before the kids head back to school.

If your local Tractor Supply is one of your regular stops, it’s worth checking the company’s list of store closures to see whether any nearby locations are affected. Fortunately, many New York stores appear to remain strong and continue serving customers throughout the state.
