There's still uncertainty surrounding how the upcoming NFL season goes, in regards to packed stadiums, due to the COVID-19 virus. That includes New Era Field.

The NFL schedule was released last week and the Bills will play four primetime games, two of them at home.

  • October 15: Kansas City at Buffalo, 8:20 PM
  • December 7: Buffalo at San Francisco, 8:15 PM
  • December 13: Pittsburgh at Buffalo, 8:20 PM
  • December 28: Buffalo at New England, 8:15 PM

As we said on Thursday, this marks the first time in 24 years the Bills have four night games and the first time they've hosted two primetime games in Orchard Park since 2007, when the Bills hosted the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football and the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football.

According to their Facebook page, the Transit Drive-In wants to show those four Bills night games for fans in a social distancing-friendly environment.

The Transit Drive-In still needs league permission to show the games at their theater screens but if they are granted permission, then they move forward with showing the Bills primetime games.

They also could show the game against the Denver Broncos on December 20th, assuming that the start time is 4 p.m. or later. The game currently is a TBD time slot.

They also are open to showing other night games the Bills aren't playing in, if the league grants permission and the demand is high enough.

What a great idea. Again, they still need NFL permission, but the Transit Drive-In could provide escapism during the next few months here in Western New York.
