Another Wage INCREASE Soon For Workers In New York State

As the summer starts, you might have a part time job that is about to begin. Soon, the minimum wage for that job could be going up here in New York State.

From Buffalo, to Albany, there are dozens of pools, beaches and parks that will be filled with people looking to escape the heat and have fun! Jobs like lifeguards and maintenance workers are popular for students on summer break.

But for those who get paid minimum wages for their job, there is even more sunshine in the forecast!

There are reports this week that lawmakers are working to get a raise in the federal minimum wage.

What Jobs Are Getting The Raise?

The most popular minimum wage jobs in the country are typically those in food service. A boost in pay will be welcomed as one report indicates that " Not only was this one of the largest occupational groups overall, but 58.4 percent of these jobs paid less than $15 per hour, a higher share than any other group."
