The good news was nobody was hurt in the crash. There were 41 homes evacuated in a four-block span but those evacuated were allowed to return home on Tuesday morning.

Early investigations are looking into whether or not an old switch or an issue with the track that caused the derailment, according to WIVB.

Tuesday was cleanup for the derailment, as 15 of the 98 cars derailed at low speed. The lead engine train went down an embankment. The total cleanup could take 2-4 days.

Congressman Brian Higgins and Senator Charles Schumer are calling for a further investigation into the crash.
