Yesterday’s Harley-Davidson Destination: Olcott, NY
Yesterday was a perfect day for a Harley ride. Sunshine, no rain and temperatures in the 60's. I made sure that most of my household chores were completed during the day on Saturday and on Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon was free and clear.
Sometimes when I leave my driveway, I really don't have a clear plan of where I will be going or where I will end up. Years ago, I would often ride in a large group of riders, but these days I prefer to ride by myself. Riding solo allows me the freedom to go where I want, stop whenever I want and stay for as long as I want.
Yesterday's ride took me through Clarence and Newstead and eventually I ended up in Olcott, NY on the Lake Ontario shoreline. Olcott has always been a favorite destination of mine. It's a quaint little spot on the lake with a few bar/restaurants, a park and a gorgeous view of Lake Ontario.
I stopped at the Time Out bar and restaurant for a bite to eat It's a very peaceful place with an exquisite view of Olcott Harbor. In a few weeks, my family and I will be taking a fishing trip on the boat you see in the middle of this photo. I will be telling you more about that adventure in a future blog.
