A 4 year old in Nashville got his hands on a loaded gun at a cookout, then accidentally pulled the trigger, killing the wife of a Tennessee sheriff's deputy.

On Saturday, Deputy Daniel Fanning was showing his weapons some relatives in a bedroom of his Lebanon home when the toddler came in and, in just moments, picked up a gun off the bed. Sources say that the 4 year old discharged the weapon and ended up killing Fanning’s wife, Josephine, right on the scene.

The gun was not officer Fanning's weapon that he used on duty. Usually, his weapons are stored in a safe.

The little boy was not related to the Fannings. How did he even learn how to use the gun? Are video games to blame?

What do you think? Freak accident? Officer should have been more responsible? Both?
