If you missed the World's Largest Singles Party last Friday, you missed a good time. There was tons of stuff to do. From karaoke to a DJ, trivia and live music, we had it all. Along with our friends from our sister station at The New 96.1 Joy-FM, we started the fun a little early.
If you haven't heard already, Blake Shelton got himself into a bit of hot water with some classic country singers, including one of his favorites -- Ray Price. In his GAC "Backstory" profile, Blake said, "Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa's music." Now he's got a friend taking to Twitter to back him up.
Yesterday was another chance to take our minds off of work and get a little laugh along the way with Worst Joke Wednesday. Here are some of the best of the worst jokes!
Football is a tough sport. I played from the time I was eight until I was 18. I still feel some of the injuries that I acquired from playing. Those were also some of the best years of my life. So why shouldn't everyone get a shot to play? That's the argument that a girl from Pennsylvania is trying to get heard...and she's called on a big name to help her get it out.
We are already starting to count down the days to this year's Taste of Country concert, and the acts were just announced for the first time this morning. This year we have probably the most diverse acts we've ever had. Which act are you most excited to see?
When I had kids, I always hoped that they would like the same things that I liked as a kid. You hope they like the same sports, the same TV shows, and the even the same music. I can say from experience that sometimes you find yourself doing what they like instead...even if it means going to a Justin Bieber concert.
I'm not only a dad but I'm an uncle too. I've got nieces and nephews who have given up lying to Uncle Brett. I told them that I can always tell when they're lying and they're always surprised when I can call them on it. If only I had one of these...
It seems like things have been going rather well for Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer. While they've been dating for about a year now, they've made an announcement through People.com that they are engaged!
Yesterday was officially the second inauguration of President Barack Obama. The inauguration happens every 4 years on January 20th. Over the years it has ranged from a simple oath taking ceremony to a longer affair with parades and inaugural balls. Here are some more facts about the presidential inauguration that you may not know about already:
The Taste of Country is once again coming back to Buffalo, and we could not be more excited to announce this year's Taste of Country lineup!
I hate to fly. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The reasons that I hate it are 50% because I don't trust my life in the hands of technology that puts me thousands of feet in the air and the other 50% that I don't trust is other people. I was for the body scanners that the TSA was using to screen passengers. Now they're going to be removed.
Before the big stars were big stars, they were newcomers with just one single. For Miranda Lambert, that first single was "Me And Charlie Talking" from her Kerosene album. Although four singles were launched from the CD, only the title track was a top 15 hit. I, for one, still love this song.
