Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

With Jack Eichel Sitting Out, Buffalo Sabres Lose in Toronto

Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Eichel was too sick to play in Saturday night's game against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.  His absence, plus having played a game the night before while the Leafs enjoyed the night off was just too much for the Buffalo Sabres.  The Sabres turned in their worst effort in more than a month in a 4-1 loss.

UB Bulls Make a Game of It, But Fall to Miami In NCAA Tournament

The UB Bulls made a game of it, had the lead for most of the first half, but the Miami Hurricanes were just too much to overcome.  The Hurricanes chipped away at the Bulls lead that at one point was eight points, but a 9-0 run late in the first half gave Miami the lead and they never surrendered it after that.

Scary Moment During Buffalo Sabres Loss In Montreal

The Montreal Canadiens 3-2 win Thursday night at the Bell Center was overshadowed by a scary injury to Montreal defenseman P K Subban.  The star Canadiens player suffered an apparent neck injury when he collided with a teammate while tangled up with the Sabres' Marcus Foligno late in the third period.  The game was held up nearly 15 minutes while medical and training staff from both teams attended to the player on the ice.  Subban held a thumbs up to the crowd as was wheeled off the ice.
