Dale Mussen

I've been doing this radio thing for over 35 years now. I've been a part of the Breakfast Club morning show since 1986. Since I was a kid, I've loved to read. I read the newspaper each day nearly cover to cover – usually not the classifieds though. I get a lot of ideas for my Daily Data segment just by reading the paper. I’m a lifelong Bills and Sabres fan, and I've been a regular in the press box of both teams since 1979 -- but I'm still waiting for one of them to win a championship! Four cracks at it for the Bills and two for the Sabres, and they came up short. I was born and raised in the Buffalo area. I went to school at Niagara University, and since Clay went to Canisius, we get to raz each other twice each year when the Eagles and Griffs meet to play basketball. I have a large collection of records. I'm one of the few that still has the old vinyl, including a lot of old 45s in their original sleeves. Some kids probably have no idea what I'm talking about at this point. My favorite things to do in my spare time are bike riding and fixing things around the house, and each fall, I officiate high school football games.

Spooky Foretelling of Titanic’s Sinking 14 Years Before It Happened

We all know the story of the Titanic – called unsinkable – it sank on its maiden voyage in 1912. What you may not know is that 14 years before that, author Morgan Robertson wrote a short novel called "Futility" - the story of the sinking of a huge oceanliner named "The Titan".

Buffalo Sabres Complete Weekend Sweep

Four points out of the final playoff spot with five games left to play and some of the Sabres still believe they can make the playoffs.  That's what they say publicly anyway.  Their chances are miniscule, but if they had played most of the season like they did in back to back games over the weekend they'd likely be in the thick of it.

Buffalo Sabres Fail To Show Up In Loss To Montreal

I've been a fan of the Buffalo Sabres since they began play in 1970.  I've missed very few games over the years but if there was ever one to miss it was Thursday night's game against the Montreal Canadiens.  It was obvious many of the Sabres have given up any hope of making the  playoffs when they didn't bother to show up.

Original Civil War Casualty Numbers Were Wrong

Today marks the 152nd anniversary of the start of the bloodiest four years in American history. For more than 100 years the estimated death toll of the American Civil War stood at just under 619,000. It’s hard to believe but that number is nearly as many American soldiers killed in all the other wars this country has fought combined – World Wars One and Two, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexican War, Spanish American War….just an incredible number of lives lost….Americans killing Americans.

What Are Some Baby Names For Boys AND Girls?

We’re always talking about the most popular names for little baby girls and boys. But how about names that could be used to name a boy or a girl. Call ‘em gender neutral names. I have one – Dale. When I went to school – and it was a pretty large high school - there were only two students named Dale and the other was a girl.
