Our annual stop at Buffalo’s famous Broadway Market is courtesy of Kelly’s Country Store. Each year you can get their famous Easter candy at both their Grand Island location and at the Broadway Market. All of their creations are from Kelly’s famous chocolate recipe and molded into 500 different shapes for Easter including rabbits, chicks, cats, dogs, alligators, turtles, chocolate pizzas, computers, telephones. It’s fun to just see all the different shapes.

For the second week in a row Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin were involved in an incident, but this time it sent Hamlin to the hospital after a hard crash on the final lap of the Auto Club 400 in California. The two were battling for the lead when Logano bumped Hamlin sending both into the wall. Hamlin took the hardest hit and collapsed when he got out of his car. He was alert after the race but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

First the U.S. Postal Service said Saturday mail delivery will be cut beginning in August as a way to save money.  Now the Government Accountability Office says the Post Office doesn't have the authority to make that decision.

In the first five weeks of the season the Gen-6 car is being tested on all sorts of tracks. From the Superspeedway of Daytona to the short track at Bristol. This week NASCAR heads back out west to the two-mile Auto Club Speedway in California. It’s the first of two visits there this season.

Each year we’re amazed at the acts of heroism performed by first responders and those acts never go unrecognized. There’s a local organization that recognizes Western New York heroes and I’m sure the Lockport police officers who risked their lives saving the life of a man in his burning house will be considered.

He started here as an intern when he was a teenager.  He'd help out around the station and at remotes and other appearances working without pay.  But you could see it right away.

He was so dedicated as an intern that he was offered a job, first as a part timer, then full time working the evening shift.  Eventually he moved to mornings, and we've sat across from each other every morning ever since.
