Bag Limits Up For New York Goose Hunters

It's just about here. Hunting season is on the doorstep, and if you're like me, you can't hardly wait to back in the field/woods.

The weather may be rather warm yet, but once the Erie County Fair ends, it is time to get the gear ready, get the guns oiled up and start making plans to get to your favorite hunting spots!

This weekend will bring the opener for a few seasons, including the September goose season in New York.

No doubt if you have traveled anywhere around Western New York, you have seen a greater number of geese. Whether it's a farm field, soccer field or golf course, Canada Geese are everywhere in big numbers. As a result, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has raised the daily bag limit for goose hunters for the September season in various areas of the state where the amount of geese have gotten out of control.
