NASCAR has some new and exciting improvements for 2017. On Monday, NASCAR announced some tweaks that were made to the points system including a carry-over to the chase.

Races will now be divided into three stages. Points will be awarded to the top-10 drivers at the end of two designated segments during an event as well as the field at the end of a race.

The new season and new rules go in to effect at Daytona on February 26th.
