Rookie Chris Buescher Wins Rain-Shortened Race at Pocono

It's probably not the way Chris Buescher envisioned winning his first Sprint Cup race, but he'll take it anyway.  Buescher was declared the winner after NASCAR called Monday's race at Pocono with 22 laps left because of weather.  He inherited the lead a few laps earlier during a cycle of green-flag pit stops and when dense fog moved across the track the race was red-flagged, then finally called when a line of thunderstorms made a restart impossible.

Over the weekend he became the first driver in NASCAR history to sweep both the pole and the race in Xfinity and Sprint Cup races on the same weekend.  And Sunday's win at the Brickyard was a statement victory.

Tony Stewart Bumps His Way to Victory at Sonoma

What a wild finish to the season's first road course race.  Tony Stewart led the final 22 laps, but needed to pass Denny Hamlin on the final turn of the last lap to win his third career race at Sonoma International Raceway in California.  Stewart had built a more than half second lead on Hamlin entering the final lap, but Hamlin found a way past Stewart on the 7th turn only to have Stewart return the favor just before the finish line.

Truex Dominates in Victory at Coca-Cola 600

It was an incredible record-breaking night for Martin Truex, Jr. at Sunday's Coca-Cola 600.  He led all but eight of the race's 400 laps.  He had the lead for 588 of 600 miles – the most ever in a single race in NASCAR history. And so after disappointments at Texas, Kansas and Dover earlier this year, Truex finally has his first win of the season and the fourth of his career.
