Yesterday, the body of Officer Craig Lehner was recovered near Strawberry Island after five days of searching. It was discovered that Officer Lehner went missing after he failed to surface after a training dive in the Niagara River. More than 15 agencies from all over the state and across the border came together for the search and recovery efforts and after a tireless effort they were able to bring their brother home to his family.

In honor of Officer Lehner's service and life, Buffalo went blue at several notable locations. City Hall, The Peace Bridge and One Seneca Tower were glowing in blue overnight and into the moring. Several houses and neighborhoods also went blue to honor the officer as well.

Officer Craig Lehner was a nine-year veteran of the Buffalo Police Department. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
