After a 3-game winning streak, the Buffalo Sabres played what can only be described as a lousy game to start their two-game Florida swing.  They generated only nine shots thru two periods while falling behind 2-0 and eventually lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1.

Rather than making a serious challenge for a playoff spot the Sabres looked more like they were enjoying the Florida warmth too much to be thinking about hockey.  The ended up with only 14 shots for the game and if not for the play of Ryan Miller in goal the game would have been decided early.

Defenseman Jordan Leopold scored the lone Buffalo goal coming with only four minutes to play to avert a shutout.

The loss drops the Sabres five points out of the final playoff spot.  They continue their Florida trip Thursday night against the Florida Panthers.
