It's a brutal Monday for Buffalo Bills fans, players and coaches.

Today is locker cleanout day for the Bills, after another heartbreaking 27-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional round on Sunday night.

The Bills got another great performance from Josh Allen, who rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another -- a brilliant pass across his body and a great catch by Khalil Shakir.

However, the game plan was running the ball and short passes. That likely due to the fact the defense was ravaged by injuries and they thought the Chiefs would get their points with Patrick Mahomes. The problem we saw is that even though it worked most of the time, the margin or error was small and it cost Buffalo.

The Bills were stopped on 3rd and 9 inside Chiefs territory with 1:50 left and Tyler Bass missed a 44-yard field. Kansas City got a first down and the game ended.

Today was locker room cleanout and one Bills player let the cat out of the bag that he is leaning towards retirement.

Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips says that he's contemplating retirement and that "this might be it."

Phillips is 31 years old and was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2015. He played for Buffalo from 2018-2019, then again from 2022-2023.

He's been good when healthy, but he has missed over 20 games since 2020. In the end, long-term health is more important and this might be a good time to walk away.

Outside of wide receiver and safety, the Bills need help at defensive line and linebacker depth. Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones are the starters but after that, it's thin with pending free agents. They have to get younger at defensive tackle.
