In the wake of the success of 'Nashville,' it was probably inevitable that some enterprising producer was going to try to capitalize on that by staging a Music City-based reality show. It's an idea whose time has apparently come with the announcement that TNT has given the green light to a new show called 'Nashville Confidential.'

According to a press release, the new "unscripted" show "is set in and around the high-stakes country music business based in Nashville, Tenn. Centering on some of Nashville’s most compelling power couples, the show provides an alluring and unprecedented glimpse behind the scenes of one of America’s most unique, vibrant and competitive cities."

The series is being produced by Evolution Media, the same company which produces several of the delightfully tacky 'Real Housewives' franchises, so it's somewhat doubtful this is aiming for high art. On the other hand, it's on TNT, whose slate of original reality programming includes an attempt at more serious fare like 'Boston's Finest,' so perhaps it will genuinely take a harder look at the realities of the Nashville music industry.

This isn't the first reality series to take place in Music City. In 2007, aspiring stars including Chuck Wicks and Jamey Johnson took part in a truly unfortunate show on Fox titled 'Nashville' that mercifully lasted just a couple of episodes.

No cast members have yet been announced for 'Nashville Confidential,' but the Nashville Scene reported about a casting call last June that read, "If you or someone you know is a successful, powerful WOMAN, single or married, with an outstanding personality, who frequents the Nashville social scene -- we would love to hear from them! Entrepreneurs, Power Couples, CEO's, Wives of Music Execs and Sports Players etc etc -- Please encourage anyone you know who considers themselves part of Nashville's Elite, to apply now."

Since it's highly unlikely that anyone like Tim and Faith, or Blake and Miranda would feel inclined to participate in a show of this nature, who would you like to see on 'Nashville Confidential'?
