Are you a talented singer who would like to sing in front of a crowd?  How would you like to sing the national anthem here in Buffalo?

Singing the national anthem is a huge honor at a sporting event and the Buffalo Bisons are looking for some talented people to do it for upcoming games this summer.  As you know, before every single Bisons game they start with the national anthem and they're looking for singers.

What will you have to do for the audition?

If you think you have what it takes to sing the national anthem, there's some stuff you'll have to do to earn your spot singing it at a game.  First, there's a form you need to fill out.  Click here to find it and fill it out online.

Next, you need to learn the words.  People say it's one of the hardest songs to sing live so you're going to need to make sure you know it front and back so that the lyrics aren't a struggle.  Then, you're going to need to be able to also sing the Canadian national anthem, "O Canada!"  Both songs will be sung at the games, so you'll need to be able to perform both of them.

Then you'll have to show up to the auditions.  They're taking place on Saturday, March 16th from 10 am until noon at Sahlen Field.  They're asking people to enter at the Consumer’s Pub at the Park entrance off of Washington St.  You don't need to make an appointment. If you're singing, you'll need to sing acapella (without instruments provided).  However, they do add that instrumental performances will also be considered.

How much does it pay?

They've made it clear that this is a volunteer opportunity and that no financial compensation will be made to people who sing the national anthem at games.
