April 17, 2013 I was out watching the Sabres/Bruins game Wednesday night. Did you see the pre-game ceremony? The National Anthem? To hear 18,000 people singing along to the most beautiful song ever written brought tears to my eyes, and from what I saw, many other grown men and women's eyes as well.
Beyonce decided that the time to address whether or not she was lip-syncing the national anthem at the presidential inauguration is now. You know, when everybody's already forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.

June 6, 2012 The "Star Spangled Banner", our country's national anthem. Penned by Francis Scott Key back in 1812 during the War of 1812. It's a beautiful song which has been sung by many, perfected by a few (of course, Whitney Houston) and butchered by a handful (namely, Roseanne Barr). For me, the "Star Spangled Banner" and "America The Beautiful" are the two best patriotic songs our country has. If we were ever to switch national anthems...I'd hope it would be "America The Beautiful." That finally brings me to the point of this post. Vanity Fair/60 Minutes conducted a survey which asked participants ...Q- "If the country were to have a new national anthem...Who should write it? The singer who was selected most frequently was....
March 5, 2012 This little girl is incredible. Where and how does a 5-year old develop such a powerful voice and stage presence? Her version of the national anthem sounds an awful lot like Whitney Houston's rendition prior to Super Bowl 25 featuring the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants back in 1991.

July 5, 2011 I had a chance to be at the Jam In The Valley once again this year. if you missed this years, do not miss it next year. It is one of the best ways to spend your Independence Day weekend.
I think one of the classiest parts about the whole thing is the fact that on both nights, there is a point before the headliners are on stage that the anthems for both the United States and Canada are performed. This has come up in conversation recently.

July 2, 2011 You may have heard the renditions of celebrities who have sung the national anthem and totally messed it up. They've forgotten the words, missed notes, and just really banged it up. Here's a video of some of our nations bravest singing "The Star Spangled Banner." Somehow, it doesn't matter how they sing it....it just sounds good coming from them.
