It was an emotional moment that at least 60,000 people won't soon forget this past New Years Eve in New York State. The Buffalo Bills defeated the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium Sunday but it was what happened prior to the game that had so many talking.

Arguably, one of the best moments of any outdoor sporting event is the pregame/race/event flyover. Seeing these incredible airplanes and the occasional helicopter zoom overhead on the last note of the National Anthem is enough to make any American feel proud!

But this past Sunday, fans and players were treated to an extra special moment as it was the very last flyover for the pilot as it was the last day of service prior to retirement. What an absolute thrill to be on hand to witness that moment for Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Canetti!

According to the post on YouTube:

Buffalo native and Air Force pilot Benjamin Canetti retired in style, flying a KC-135 Stratotanker out of the 914th Air Refueling Wing over the Buffalo #Bills vs. New England #Patriots game at Highmark Stadium on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2023, for his final mission.

The Buffalo Bills were so proud to give Canetti the large stage and, thankfully, the weather held up for the flight!

For the last four years, Canetti has continued to be an Air Force pilot in addition to being a pilot for Delta Air Lines.

Congratulations on a great career and a huge THANK YOU from all of us who were lucky enough to be there. It was a perfect way to end the year!!
