There have been a few random booms in Western New York, specifically near Lancaster/Depew lately, and the neighbors are fed up.

Is it fireworks? Maybe it’s the kids across the street?

You probably have been trying to piece together what is causing these booms, and so have the rest of us.

Even local television news stations have been trying to discover the cause of these booms, and we’re still stumped.

And is it a coincidence that these random booms started around the same time that the construction began on the gully on Walden (near Wolcott Guns). There are dump trucks there all day, bringing stones and dumping from all directions. Could the quarries be working overtime to produce so much stone?

Honestly, while it seems like a likely explanation, it doesn’t quite make sense.

After all, quarries are regulated by the DEC, and if it were the quarry, those who live nearby would recognize that noise and be able to pinpoint the origin of the booms. There would be lights and vehicles there if the quarry was operating overnight too, which we have not seen any sign of.

While some guesses have seemed close to what could be the cause of these booms, other ideas have been absolutely crazy…but they’re still hilarious to read.
