June 12, 2012 Check off the Los Angeles Kings from the list – the list of teams that have never won the Stanley Cup. And what’s amazing is that the Kings were the 8th seed in the Western Conference – the last team to make the playoffs in the West. So congratulations to a team and their fans who went 45 years before winning the NHL’s top prize. Just goes to show it can be done.

June 9, 2012 (Facebook) His voice has been synonymous with Buffalo Sabres hockey since almost the inception of the team and he'll honored in November with his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Broadcaster Rick Jeannert has done Sabres play by play since the 1971-72 season, the team's second year in the league and is the longest-tenured broadcaster in the NHL. It's an honor long overdue.

April 26, 2012 Another blow to smokers with the announcement yesterday by the Buffalo Sabres that smoking will not be allowed anywhere on the grounds of First Niagara Center during games and events. The arrangement allowing smokers to step outside between periods will be discontinued. I’m just afraid it’ll lead to more violations
especially in stairwells and bathrooms. There’s plenty of that going on now. I’m sure we’ll see even more.
April 25, 2012 Tickets for Buffalo Sabres season tickets will be increasing from $2.00 to $8.00 a game for next season. It will increase the average price to $53.00 per ticket, well below the NHL average of $75.00 a ticket. The Sabres say the team has ranked in the bottom five among all NHL teams for ticket prices over the past five years.
April 11, 2012 Buffalo Sabres President Ted Black made it official on Wednesday saying that General Manager Darcy Regier and coach Lindy Ruff will remain with the team for the 2012-2013 season. It's not really a surprise. Owner Terry Pegula has the greatest respect for Ruff and I don't think his words "he's not going anywhere" back in February of last year have changed. And Regier has said Ruff will stay with the Sabres as coach as long as he wants the job.
Monday was locker clean out day for the Buffalo Sabres at the First Niagara Center. Things went as expected, except for Derek Roy's comment about coach Lindy Ruff and how he shouldn't criticize players outside of the locker room. Is Lindy right in doing this? I don't think it's that bad!!
