When you think about the Grammy Awards, you may not think about Country artists. No surprise as the award originated in the rock and pop world, but they do have some country catagories for Grammy Awards. Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum each took home some new hardware...

The Band Perry and Blake Shelton will join Glen Campbell on stage for a performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday February 12th on CBS.  The Band Perry is in the running for their first Grammy, up for “Best new Artist of the Year”, Blake is nominated for ‘Best Country Solo Performance for “Honey Bee” and his album ‘Red River Blue’ is nominated in the Best Country Album category.  Glen Campbell is

Keith Urban won another Grammy last night, male country vocalist for “Till Summer Comes Around”.  The award wasn’t shown on the program it was announced before the show even aired.  Keith did get some air time though honoring Dolly Parton by singing her song “Jolene” with Nora Jones and John Mayer (or was that Johnny Depp?).  Anyway it was one of the highlights as far as I was concerned.

Neil Young has always been one of my personal musical heros.  The man has taught me more about playing guitar than anyone else on the planet.  He has also had the type of career that most musicians can only dream of. From his humble beginnings in Canada, to Buffalo Springfield, CSNY and his illustrious solo career.

Two more country stars have been added as presenters at the Grammy Awards.  Dierks Bentley and Blake Shelton have signed on to present trophies.  Dierks is nominated for his Up on the Ridge album with 3 nominations and Blake got a nod for Best Country Collaboration for his duet with Trace Adkins “Hillbilly Bone”.

The Grammy Awards are just award the corner, February 13th in fact.  If you’re a Dierks Bentley fan listen up!  Dierks will host an intimate pre-party at the Troubadour in LA the night before the awards and a few lucky fans get to go.
