While the Buffalo Bills were embarrassing themselves on national TV the Buffalo Sabres were out west in Arizona against the Coyotes where they held on for a 5-4 win, but just barely.  Arizona scored first, but the Sabres scored five straight goals to build a 5-1 lead.

You can't criticize the Buffalo Sabres' effort on Saturday afternoon.  They played about as hard as they could against a veteran San Jose Sharks team, but the bounces just didn't go their way in a 3-2 loss to drop their season record to 3-7-2.  A controversial video review took away a goal and that was the difference.

If you like lots of offense, this was not the game for you.  But if you enjoy watching the Buffalo Sabres win a game you were in the right place.  Benoit Pouliot scored the only goal of the game and Robin Lehner and the Buffalo defense made it hold up in the Sabres 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night at KeyBank Center.

What more can you say.  This year's edition of the Buffalo Sabres is simply a bad hockey team.  Is it goaltending?  Is it coaching?  Is it defense?  Lack of scoring certainly is a huge problem.  There's a new general manager in place.  A new coach in place, but it's the same old Sabres - they're just a bad hockey team.  Sure, it's early in the season, but they've played five games already and lost

Jack Eichel says he's sick of losing.  He should.  The Buffalo Sabres remained winless on Thursday night with a 3-2 loss against the San Jose Sharks in the first of a four-game western road trip.
