The UB Bulls made a game of it, had the lead for most of the first half, but the Miami Hurricanes were just too much to overcome.  The Hurricanes chipped away at the Bulls lead that at one point was eight points, but a 9-0 run late in the first half gave Miami the lead and they never surrendered it after that.

UB closed to within four points in the final minute of play.  The Bulls just couldn't come thru with the key baskets they needed in falling 79-72.  Freshman Nick Perkins led the UB offense with 20 points and nine rebounds.  Lamonte Bearden chipped in 19.

UB shot only 39 percent for the game and hit on only 10 of 26 shots from 3-point range, a major factor in the loss.

But congratulations to the Bulls and first year coach Nate Oats for making it to national championship tournament for the second year in a row.  It's a great sign for the program and the future.
