I watched the two and half hour CMT Music Awards last night and pretty much enjoyed all of the performers.  There were some stand outs including the opening which teamed Lady Antebellum with pop band Hot Chelle Rae who’s hit song ‘Tonight, Tonight’ mashed up well with Lady A’s ‘We Owned The Night’.  It was a seamless fit and personally a big highlight of the show for me.

The hosts Toby Keith and actress Kristen Bell meshed well together starting with their politically themed open which featured everyone from Matthew McConaughey to President Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney.  Carrie Underwood dazzled as she perform the video of the year winning ‘Good Girl’.  Zac Brown debuted their new single ‘The Wind’ and Little Big Town threw out an entertaining performance of ‘Pontoon’ which could become a summer anthem for them.
