Boy, Patrick Hammer at Channel 2 wasn't kidding when he said it was going to be a nasty, windy Wednesday.  We've had some huge gusts of wind today causing damage all around Western New York and surrounding areas.  I was worried about my wood fence door to my backyard which has seen better days as of late.  I had to put a couple big bricks in front of it to anchor it so it would swing open and shut and come off the hinges.  But luckily that was my only issue to deal with aside from garbage and recycling totes.  Others in Western New York haven't been as fortunate.

National Grid is reporting more than 15,000 customers without power across the region, including 1,800 in the town of Niagara and 1,494 in Hamburg. NYSEG has more than 21,000 customers without power.

Take a look at some of the damage that folks are showing us on twitter and instagram today.
