The 13th annual Earth Week Erie Canal Clean Sweep in North Tonawanda takes place this Saturday, April 21st at Mayor's Park on Sweeney Street.  Volunteers are asked to meet at the large pavilion in Mayor's Park at 9 am.

There are well over 100 communities along the Canal that are taking part in clean-up and beautification projects to get ready for the summer season.  As usual, there's a large amount of debris along the banks of the Canal.  Volunteers are asked to bring their own rakes and gloves.  Trash bags will be provided.  The work should be completed by noon when lunch will be served.

The Canal Clean Sweep is one of a number of Earth Week activities happening around Western New York thru the end of April.  If you have the time, they can use your help.
