It’s always the days when you’re running late that you seem to hit every red light, but have you ever noticed that some lights are more brutal than others?

When you are just starting to learn how to drive, you learn rather quickly that there are two kinds of stop lights: the ones that rely on a timer, and the other ones that rely on a sensor.

Most of the ones around Buffalo are, admittedly, not the latter, so you may be waiting for quite some time at these stoplights.

We honestly have it better than most cities when it comes to how bad the traffic is, but there are some trouble spots that we are all familiar with, and these stoplights are just a few of them.

Take a look at the 14 worst intersections with traffic lights before, and see if you agree.

Worst Traffic Lights In Western New York

These traffic lights are the worst, for drivers and pedestrians. Can you think of any others?

Some of these are no-brainers. Elmwood and north, for example, is one of the biggest nightmares, especially during rush hour.

The double light at Ellicott Creek Park on Niagara Falls Blvd tends to be a major source of backups, too.

And don’t even get me started about Colvin and Kenmore. That intersection could use a turning lane so bad. On top of that, if you are headed south, the two lanes become one just about three blocks later. Not to mention, there are cars parked on the street, so it backs up traffic when one person is trying to avoid all the parked cars.

There’s a lot of places we could improve when it comes to these frequented intersections.
