The temperatures will be at a low by Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but nearly the entire State is gearing up for snow and some spots up to a foot.

Wind chills are expected to be below 0 degrees tonight and throughout most of Tuesday. With the extremely low temperatures will be snow covering across the State of New York.

Upstate is expected to get anywhere from 8 to 12 inches of snow, while ski country in Western New York is expected to only get a couple of inches of snow. Along Lake Erie by Buffalo will be getting about 6 inches. The National Weather Service office in New York City took to X to post about the heavy snow that was coming down in New York City. A lot of businesses have shut down as they expect over 5 inches of snow to fall. The weather will have some school districts in New York State cancel or delay school times for kids so they don't have to wait in frigid temps at the bus stop.

As Buffalo Bills fans started to walk into the game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, the National Weather Service sent out an alert that had everyone's phones pinging at the same time. It said:

Heavy Lake Effect snow and life threatening cold / windchills expected from Monday to Wednesday.

Although the extremely cold temperatures and snow is coming in the middle of the week, the weekend is looking to shape up pretty nice. The temperatures across New York State will rise to above 30 on average.
