
The “50 Pound” Rule In Western New York
There is nothing like a clean basement, garage, shed, or workshop. Now that summer is here, you may be spending more time in one or all of these. If you plan to get rid of some of the trash when you clean, there are some rules to keep in mind.
The summer heat has been raging here in New York State! According to the National Weather Service, the humidity will be here for at least another day or so.
But the fall will be here soon, and if you want to get all the cleaning done before the back-to-school routine arrives, you can get rid of the household waste you have at various locations in Erie County.

We have four kids, and I am constantly trying to keep the house safe and free of nasty chemicals that might be just left sitting. When you look around, it is amazing how many of these you will notice have been untouched or unused for years! For whatever reason, I found a dozen of nearly empty paint cans! Some that don't have a label on them.
In Erie County, there are numerous ways to drop off household waste.
The 50 Pound Rule In Erie County
According to a post from Erie County, "Erie County offers a free program allowing Erie County residents to bring up to 50 lbs. of acceptable household hazardous waste to Hazman in Tonawanda, NY". Keep in mind, you will be charged for more than the 50-pound limit.
