Craft beer is one of Western New York’s best exports. Buffalo has one of the best local beer scenes, and sipping on a cold beer made nearby boosts both our local economy and our hometown pride.
The 716 and its surrounding areas are booming with local craft breweries, bars and bottle shops, with more opening up all the time.
Now, the next time you head to downtown Buffalo, you might be able to grab a beer from Western New York’s most popular breweries.

42 North One Of Western New York’s Most Popular Breweries
Since opening seven years ago, the taproom at 42 North Brewing Company is a hot spot in East Aurora for local beer connoisseurs. It’s got great reviews on the beer review site Untappd, with beers like their Borderland IPA and Wallonia Wit remaining a favorite of Western New York beer fans.
42 North Opening A Second Location In Buffalo?
Now it looks like 42 North is looking to branch out of the southeast and expand their footprint into the city of Buffalo.
WKBW reports that 42 North is hoping to open a second location at 674 Main Street, in the heart of Buffalo’s theater district, right near Shea’s Performing Arts Center and Town Ballroom.
Currently, they’re waiting for approval from the city, and once it happens, they’ll set to open the new taproom’s doors three months later.
We really hope this happens! A downtown 42 North location sounds like a great spot to grab a drink before catching a show or a concert, and would be a great compliment to the other popular bars and restaurants in the area.
