5 Years Ago: “Bartender” by Lady Antebellum Hits #1
The bartender can play an important role in the life of a patron that comes in and talks anything and everything, over some drinks.
Country music has tons of songs about bartenders. One song from 2014 was a huge hit for Lady Antebellum that was all about the bartender helping to forget that past love.
"Bartender" was released to country radio in May of 2014. It reached number one on both the Mediabase and Billboard Country airplay charts in early September, spending two weeks at the top.
Written by Lady Antebellum with Rodney Clawson, the song was the first single off their 747 album.
The music video stars Kate Upton and actor Tony Hale, who plays the bartender.
I've lost count how many people have called this song, "Hey, Bartender", and it makes sense to think so if you've heard the song. It's a simple subject but the music and melody are so infectious.
