A Buffalo Legend Is Returning To Western New York
If you were a fan of the Buffalo Sabres during the 1990s one of the best players of the era is returning to Western New York this week.
Officials with the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino announced that Dominik Hasek will be back in town this Saturday, November 13th. He will be part of the Sabres Pre-game show with Marty Biron and Brian Duff starting at 6:30 pm live from the sportsbook inside the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.
Before the broadcast, fans will have a chance to be part of a meet and greet from 5-6 pm. You will get a chance to snap a photo with one of the best goaltenders in Sabres history. Casino officials did announce that Hasek will not be signing autographs during the meet and greet.
Hasek who was brought to Buffalo via trade in after the 1992 Stanley Cup and would play for the Sabres until 2001 when he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings for Vyacheslav Kozlov, a first-round selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft which the Buffalo Sabres used to select Jim Slater.
During his career with the Buffalo Sabres, Hasek won the Vezina Trophy for being selected as the NHL's best goalie six times. He won the Ted Lindsay Award twice, the William M. Jennings Trophy once, and Hart Memorial Trophy twice.
He took the Sabres to the Stanley Cup Finals during the 1998-199 season but never won the cup with Buffalo. He would go on to win two Stanley Cups with the Detroit Redwings.
