A man who is the suspect in the shooting death of a woman in Cheektowaga is still on the run almost a week later. Adam Bennefield, who has a history of violence, is considered armed and dangerous. He is the primary suspect in the shooting death of a woman in Cheektowaga.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to his arrest. He is wanted in connection to the murder of his 40-year-old wife, Keaira Bennefield of Cheektowaga. The shooting took place on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 8:30 am, according to WGRZ. Keaira was sitting in a vehicle near Shanee Avenue and Richlawn Avenue when she was shot to death, according to police. The mother of three died at the scene.

Buffalo Police named her 45-year-old husband, Mr. Bennefield, a suspect in her murder. Mr. Bennefield, a black male, is 5 feet, 11 inches, and weighs approximately 160 pounds. If you see him, do not try to apprehend him, please call Crime Stoppers at 716-867-6161 or contact the police.

He had been arrested the day prior to the homicide, Tuesday, October 4, on domestic violence charges, but was released with no bail. Mr. Bennefield had previously served time in prison for a terrifying incident back in 2000. According to the Buffalo News, he kidnapped his estranged girlfriend and another woman. He also briefly escaped from prison.
