Going into the Super Bowl Maroon 5 already had a tremendous pressure surrounding the Colin Kaepernick saga and the pressure from fans to kneel or bail out of the halftime show. Apparently, numerous other acts passed on the opportunity to perform during the Super Bowl in support of Kaepernick. Add that to the pressure that comes with performing on the biggest stage in the world and we had ourselves, what looked like a very nervous Adam Levine.

The performance itself was so lackluster, even with the addition of rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi from Outkast. Both rappers only sang for 30 seconds or so and Travis Scott's performance was bleeped out about a dozen times making it obnoxious to listen to. When you compare last night's performance to other Super Bowl Halftime Shows, it certainly came up short and people on social media didn't hesitate to say anything online.

If you missed it, here's the whole performance from Maroon 5 and below the video is Adam Levine's response.

When we accepted the responsibility to perform at the SBHTS, I took out my pen and just wrote. Some of the words that came to me in that moment eventually made their way onto the incredible lanterns that flew high and low tonight. We thank the universe for this historic opportunity to play on the world’s biggest stage. We thank our fans for making our dreams possible. And we thank our critics for always pushing us to do better. One Love. ❤️ And the list of words is...
