Iconic country group Alabama will be hitting the road in 2019 for a national tour to celebrate half a century of playing together, with a string of 30 dates already announced over the course of the year. After decades of performances, the band members say that they're thrilled to keep performing together after so many years, and that they can't wait to get to know a new generation of fans.

"We never thought playing for tips at The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, S.C. that 50 years later we would still be playing arenas, stadiums and festivals," group frontman Randy Owen says in a press release. "Teddy, Jeff and I are humbled at the amount of fans that are coming out to see us. We are finding out that we are playing to three generations of fans who have followed us and our music from day one. The fans are the ones responsible for our continued success on the road and we love them."

Since forming in 1969 in Fort Payne, Ala., the country trio escalated to the top of the charts over the course of their extensive career, netting over 200 industry awards as well as an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The upcoming tour will feature a variety of supporting acts that include some of the most illustrious names in the format, including the Oak Ridge Boys, the Charlie Daniels Band and several others.

In April of 2017, the group's guitarist and fiddle player, Jeff Cook, revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, indicating that he would need to slow down his involvement with the band. At the time, Alabama's other members insisted that Cook was irreplaceable in the studio and on tour, and that he would continue to join them whenever his health allowed. Fortunately, Cook has been able to join his bandmates on the road since then, and will be out again in 2019. News of the new tour comes after Alabama wrapped their The Hits Tour 2018 earlier in the year.

"Randy, Teddy and I have loved making music, touring and being with our fans night after night," Cook says. "It's truly an experience that has created a bond between us and them that cannot be broken. The 50th Anniversary Tour will be full of surprises and great memories."

Alabama's 50th Anniversary Tour will kick off on Jan. 10 in Detroit, Mich., with several tour stops announced and more to come. See below for the latest concert schedule, and for more information, head over to Alabama's website.
