Alden, Depew, East Aurora, Cheektowaga + More Host MAJOR Family Event Tonight

A lot of towns including Orchard Park, East Aurora, Grand Island, Depew, Cheektowaga, Buffalo, Alden and more will be hosting events for National Night Out tonight, August 4, 2026.

National Night Out is an initiative that started over 40 years ago to give residents the chance to have a fun, free (for the most part) night out along side agencies like police and fire departments in their community.

Here are some of the festivities that are happening around Western New York for tonight and what the freebies are:

Grand Islands starts at 530---face painting, ballon artist, live music, Chivettas and they will be doing GIPD Child ID Cardz.

Depew—Erie County One helicopter will make an appearance and touch down in the middle of Depew's National Night Out. They say the helicopter will arrive at about 7 PM tonight.

Cheektowaga's National Night Out will take place at Town Park and it is a 90s throwback theme for the night and will feature so many things including touch a truck, bounce houses, face painting, a movie at dusk and more.

Erie County is going to have theirs in Tonawanda---bounce houses, gift bags and food and live music will all be happening.

East Aurora and Orchard Park Police and Fire Departments will combine for a really fun night at HAMLIN PARK in East Aurora where they will have a dunk tank, an obstacle course and a "Playground on Wheels" attraction.
