Many thought that it was going to disappear forever, but not only is it reopening, it's coming back with more rides this year.

When Martin's Fantasy Island announced that they were closing their doors for good in 2020, most people thought we would never see it open as an amusement park again.  However, just a few short months later, it was sold to a Chicago-based investor and the new owners said they would be opening again under a new name.

That new name was "Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World."  They re-opened in 2021, but as you can imagine, with many of the after-effects of Covid sticking around, it wasn't an easy thing to do.  There was a lot of damage done to the park while it sat unoccupied so when then decided to bring it back, they decided to do it in phases.  They started with the water park as many of the amusement rides had already been sold.

Slowly, they began adding more rides back into the park.  Now they've got rides like the Flying Witch indoor “dark” coaster, the Sea Dragon swinging ship, the Serpent roller coaster, the Caterpillar flat ride, the Miner Mike Family Coaster, and of course, the Silver Comet.

We always loved going to this park when we had little kids because the kiddie land area was perfect for them.  While some of the bigger parks in the area didn't have enough rides for our little ones to make it worth the money,

They've set the date to re-open in 2025

According to the calendar of dates on their website, opening day for this year at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World will be May 17, 2025.  Just think, in about 3 months, we will be back in amusement park season!  Season ticket passes are actually available right now.  If you're looking for something fun to do this summer, this could be a very affordable way to spend your time.

Here are some more water parks to check out if you feel like driving a little further...
