Western New Yorkers have always seemed like pretty easy-going people.  But it turns out, it only takes 5 words to annoy them.

We asked a simple question on Facebook.  It said, "How Would You Annoy A Western New Yorker In 5 Words Or Less?"

I expected to get just a couple of responses.  As I write this article, we received nearly 700 comments!

Most of the responses had to do with people getting annoyed that people who aren't from around here like to eat their wings with anything other than blue cheese.  I'm not sure why that bothers people, but it's like a rite of passage to become a Buffalonian.  You HAVE to eat your wings with blue cheese.  If you don't, you're just an out-of-towner.

Another very popular rant involved people calling our area "Upstate" New York.  We live in WESTERN New York.  A lot of people think that anything north of New York City in the state of New York is "Upstate."  We don't look at it that way.  Western New York is where we live, New York City is the big city, and everything else is Upstate.

Our sports teams (or the teams that have haunted us for the last 20 years) are a quick way to get to our souls too.  So anything to do with "Wide Right," "No Goal," or Tom Brady seemed to be pretty prevalent too.

Here are some of the best (or most common phrases) that we saw that were contained to 5 words or less.
