Remember when owning a cell phone was considered a luxury?

Yeah, we barely do either. 

For most of us, owning a smart phone isn’t boujee, it’s absolutely essential for keeping in touch with family, friends, and loved ones. We use it to keep track of our schedules, send emails, keep tabs on the news, and look up stuff online instantly. And, occasionally, we even use our cell phones to make a call once in a while.

For the amount of time that most New York State residents have owned a cell phone, you’d think some of them would know how to use them without annoying fellow humans, but. Sigh. That’s sadly not the case.

Cell Phone “Rules” In New York State

We’re not trying to point fingers– we’re all guilty at one time or another of committing an etiquette fail by being absolutely obnoxious with our phones. But, let’s be honest, that doesn’t make someone else doing something annoying on their cell any less infuriating.

We asked social media which common cell phone habits infuriate them the most, and from talking on speaker phone loudly in public to texting and driving, we’ve all got at least one gripe about the way fellow New York State residents operate their smart devices.

We may not be able to live without our phones, but perhaps we can start encouraging our fellow cell users to pay a little more attention to how, when, and how loudly they use their phones.
