Why Clay Doesn’t Want You To Miss These Summer Camps at Aquarium of Niagara
The Aquarium of Niagara is always a great place, and our kids love being there! It seems like every time we visit the aquarium, there’s something new to see.
And now that we are getting close to spring and thinking ahead to summer, it is the perfect time to plan for their great summer camp schedule! I immediately noticed that they offer a camp the last week of our summer break when most other camp programs have closed up shop — and if you're a member or add a membership now, you get 10 percent off!
We have four kids, so we're pretty familiar with the summer day camp options in our area. Many of them are sports-related, but not all kids love sports. In fact, our son Teddy absolutely loves nature and animals, so it's refreshing to see that the aquarium's programming includes educational exploration AND regular outdoor time. Aquarium campers also get to experience behind-the-scene spaces and talk with the professionals who care for the animals.
They have three main themes for this summer:
- Creature Feature: Meet penguins, turtles, fish, sharks, and seals and sea lions through live demonstrations and hands-on activities.
- Journey Through the Depths: Learn basic marine biology while learning about careers for aquarists, animal trainers, and veterinary staff.
- Art in the Ocean: Marine biology concepts crash into artistic expression through sponge painting, weaving, glow-in-the-dark art, and collaborative installations.
If you have a son or daughter who loves the natural world, hands-on learning, and making new friends, this is the perfect opportunity! Registration is open now, so reserve your spot before they are all gone! Learn more and get started at aquariumofniagara.org/summer-at-aon.
