Arctic Air For NFL Playoffs In Buffalo, New York
The Buffalo Bills play the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL Playoff Divisional Round this Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
The coldest air of the season, and according to some reports, the coldest in decades is about to drop on Western New York State. The bitter winter chill is expected to roll in after a brief surge in the the 30's.
But fans in Buffalo are ready and this is one game that Mother Nature won't interrupt.

The coldest day in Buffalo, New York was a bone crushing -34 degrees back in 1934. But, thankfully, when Josh Allen leads the Buffalo Bills out of the tunnel it won't be THAT cold.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, "Looking for fair weather to prepare before next week's arctic blast? Lake effect snow ends through the day tomorrow, and fair weather continues into Friday night. Not as cold Saturday, then Sunday the arctic airmass begins its grip on the Great Lakes region".
The winter has been an "on again-off again" type of season so far. The snow started early off of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario and blasted the Southtowns in November and December.
But the snow will not be the main weather event for this Playoff game. Both teams will be dealing with bitter wind chills that could make for a tough afternoon.
When the temps get to the single digits at Highmark Stadium, how will that stack up against the record lows? To be in the mix among the coldest games in NFL history it will need to get below zero for starters. It was New Year's Eve in 1967 when the famous "Ice Bowl" game was played and the temperature was -13 with a wind chill (real feel) of -48!!
It will be cold and fans will be packed in the stadium. When the clock hits zero, hopefully fans in Buffalo will only remember the taste of victory and the cold air and frosty feet and fingers will be merely a side note.
