There is another recall that people here in New York State are paying very close attention to as we kick off the week. It seems like we are getting more recall notices than ever. It could be that we are simply better informed because of social media and a 24-hour news cycle, or perhaps companies are paying closer attention to their products and how they interact with consumers.

Back-to-School Season Is Almost Here

How has your summer been going? It seems that for those who suffer from allergies, it has been a difficult summer because it has been so dry for the most part. However, because of recent rain and some heavy thunderstorms that moved through over the past couple of days, it seems as though the things that make us sneeze in the air have settled down.

Clear Eyes Maximum Itch Relief Eyedrops Recalled

Recently, a consumer alert and recall was announced for a particular brand and style of eyedrops. According to reports, Clear Eyes Maximum Itch Relief eyedrops have been recalled, with more than 40,000 units included in the recall.

Consumers should check the official consumer alert and recall notice for complete details, including the specific product information, affected lots and instructions for what to do if they have the recalled product.

"The recall affects 15mL bottles of Clear Eyes' Maximum Itchy Eye Relief, which mitigates itchiness, redness and other eye irritations, according to the product description. The eye drops were distributed nationwide"

This is not the first time we have seen an eyedrop recall. In fact, there have been several varieties of eyedrops recalled over the last year or two.

Companies have a responsibility to make sure consumers are aware of any potential dangers. That could involve an ingredient that was left off the list on the packaging or some sort of malfunction or contamination that occurred when the product was initially manufactured.
